I don’t always get it right, but I do my best to try.
The short version:
I am a curator, storyteller and content creator who sees the world through a multidimensional lens that would defy categorization by even the fiercest of French theorists. The stories that catch my eye are ones about art, culture, family, identity and all that fills in the spaces in between. I do my best to live a life of integrity, gratitude and curiosity and to surround myself with people committed to doing the same.

The longer version:
I’m an attorney and corporate executive with over 20 years of professional experience in companies at various stages of growth. Over the course of my career I’ve worked in a variety of industries including, legal, finance, higher education, media/entertainment, technology and healthcare. I’ve led global teams as well as cross-functional teams with areas of focus including the employee journey; inclusion & belonging; as well as academic, administrative, budgetary and strategic planning.
As a published author and thought leader, I participate in a number of speaking engagements and other thought leadership activities. I also leverages my storytelling, strategic planning and coaching skills to help individuals and organizations create and refine compelling and authentic narratives to optimize their brands and effectiveness.
I currently serve as the Chief People Officer of a health-tech company where I oversee the human resources department in service of the company’s employee experience—including attracting, retaining, and developing a diverse and inclusive team; evolving a hybrid culture of purpose and performance to enhance learning and speed; and guiding the enterprise strategy to amplify employee engagement and impact. I also played a formative role scaling talent, culture, and employee experience at Audible.
A firm believer in work-life integration, I maintain an active creative writing and visual arts practice. I’ve published two novels - How to Raise an Art Star and How to Date a Black Girl. My art work has been included in group art exhibitions in New York City, Detroit as well as London. I’ve also attended selective creative residencies including the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference and the BOFFO Residency Fire Island Program.
When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me discharging my “art wife” duties somewhere between Brooklyn and the NJ countryside or planning for the day when she’ll be able to take a break on the side of a Swiss hiking trail. I’ll be the one making up a story about the approaching herd of cows while my wife, Hilary Harkness, paints the landscape.
I received a J.D. from the New York University School of Law and an A.B. in the History of Art and Visual Arts from Princeton University. I received a Leadership Coaching for Organizational Performance Certificate from Rutgers University and am a certified Hogan practitioner.
I currently serve as Chair of the Audit Committee as well as a member of the Executive and Building Committees for the MoMA PS1 Board of Directors. I am also a member of the Board of Advisors for The Dermot Company, a vertically integrated, specialist investment management firm with a portfolio of exceptionally high-quality multifamily communities.
